Buying guide

Setting up a safer weld area

Personal PPE protects the welder. These products protect everyone and everything around the arc.

Shield coworkers

Welding screens and curtains block arc light and UV that can burn the eyes of anyone walking by. Tinted vinyl lets people see in while cutting glare.

Stop fires

Welding blankets cover floors, equipment and flammable materials so sparks and slag don't start fires.

Control the space

Strip doors and curtains define a weld bay and help keep sparks, drafts and debris from drifting into the rest of the shop.

Protect your gear

Leather cable covers, rod holders and tool bags protect equipment from heat, spatter and wear.

Good to know

Why a weld area needs shielding

The arc gives off ultraviolet and infrared light that can cause arc eye, a painful burn to the surface of the eye, even for people who only glance at it. Screens and curtains keep that light inside the weld area.

Sparks can travel a long way from the work. Clearing flammables and covering what you can't move with welding blankets is one of the simplest ways to reduce fire risk.

Protect the welder. Then protect everyone else.

FAQ

Shop setup questions

What color welding curtain should I get?

Tinted colors like orange, yellow and green cut glare while letting people see into the weld area. Darker tints block more light. Opaque curtains block the most.

What's the difference between a welding blanket and a curtain?

Blankets are fiberglass-based and made to handle sparks and heat on floors and equipment. Curtains are vinyl and made to block arc light around a weld area.

Can I buy blanket material by the roll?

Yes. Our blanket rolls come in widths up to 60 inches so you can cut custom sizes.

Do you sell complete welding screens with frames?

Yes. You can buy screens with frames, screens only or frame parts like casters and hooks.
